"Treescape 15513", 12" x 12" painting in acrylic on 1.5" gallery depth canvas. This is one of five tree paintings I just completed from reference materials and sketches made last year during the summer and fall. Washes of color over a textured canvas followed by palette knife work. Directly behind our property is a farmer's field which leads to a ski-doo trail which used to be a maple sugar farm chock full of birches and maple trees. Gorgeous any time of year and I find myself going back there time and again. There's something so captivating about sunlight filtering thru the leaves and hearing the birds chirping. I have the best job in the world!
